The advent of the digital age pushed by most of the audio and video experts resulted to the creation of collective bodies such as the ATSC. Organizations such as these were advocating the eradication of electronic equipments considered to be obsolete. This situation poses a threat to gadgets such as the VCR player only or the single function audio and video player.
This move to a digital audio and video production and transmission forced most of the producers of the VCR player only gadgets to stop production of such products. Those who were able to buy these gadgets (VCR player only) were also forced to convert their recorded dubbing materials to other formats by using external converters through RCA cables.
