Pilates is a popular exercise system that helps improve felxibility and the strength of your muscles. It can be very helpful in relieving aches and pains as it is a very low impact form of exercise. Low impact exercise does not stress your joints and is less likely to cause an injury. Pilates also focuses heavily on concentration and breathing while performing each exercise. Overall it gives a combined effect of many different exercises such as weight lifting, yoga, tredmills and swimming. After a pilates session you often feel very relaxed and calm. I tried pilates and it was a little bit too slow for me, but i did feel great for the few days after. I actually prefer doing body jam classes at my gym because they are more interesting and fun
