Many people spend a lot of time in bed relaxing and just chilling out listening to the radio or recuperating from an illness. However, beds are OK and really cosy and comfortable places to be if you spend most of your time lying down asleep. But, if you spend time in bed and you want to watch TV, use your laptop for business or to play a computer game, or read a book, beds can quickly become very uncomfortable places where aches and pains arise often due to your body position and the lack of support provided by normal sleeping pillows. This is where the reading pillow comes into it’s own. They come in a variety of shapes and sizes and are generally shaped like the top part of an armchair. Designed to include a backrest, headrest, and armrests they provide the comfort and support you need to prevent aches and pains occurring as you sit up in bed enjoying your favorite book, TV program or breakfast. Reading pillows are easy to remove from your bed when you want to sleep or lie down for a rest.

I’m really in favor of the these reading pillows. I’ve had one for about three years now and it’s made such a big difference to the quality of my life. I don’t get anywhere near the same number of backache pains as I had before. It’s great to be able to sit up in bed and read and watch television in comfort.

My dad is also getting rather frail now and needs to spend a lot more time in bed. I recently bought him a big support pillow and that’s made such a big difference to his life.  He can eat his meals, watch television, read his book and do much more than he ever did before. What a great purchase!

My father needs to spend a lot more time in bed during the day as he is becoming rather frail. I bought one of these reading pillows for him recently and it’s made such a difference to his comfort. He eats quite a lot of his meals in his bed now and having this big support pillow at his back allows him to sit up quite comfortably and enjoy his meals better.

I really like this idea. I’d not thought about a reading pillow before but reading this makes me realize that it’s probably a really good idea. I like watching television in bed before going to sleep and often find it really difficult to get comfortable sitting up in bed. Thanks for this tip.

I’m pleased to say that I got a reading pillow and absolutely love it. It gives so much support you wouldn’t believe what a difference it makes. I’m able to sit up reading my book for hours on end without any pain whatsoever. In fact it’s so comfortable I don’t want to get out of bed now.

I am bit off an insomniac and it takes me ages to go to sleep at night. My wife usually gets very annoyed with me because I keep tossing and turning trying to sleep. I like to read in bed at night I usually just use my old lumpy pillows for support, but having read your article I think trying one of these reading pillows may just be what I need.

I had a similar problem. I had to spend quite some time in bed due to an illness. It’s true bed can be one of the most uncomfortable places in the world when you are awake. I’ve not tried one of these reading pillows but you’ve got me thinking that perhaps I should go out and buy one and give it a try.

I spent quite a bit of time in bed recently because I’d injured my back. Trying to get comfortable was really difficult. I kept pushing my pillows behind my back but after a few minutes I started to slide down. This caused my back to ache even more. My friend has a reading pillow so my wife borrowed it for me. What a difference. I was able to sit up a long time without pain.
