As an exponent of residential interior design I was always intrigued by the television programmes where ordinary people had their homes totally transformed by interior designers. These shows were great entertainment, and certainly help to transform, not only these peoples’ homes, but brought the attention of the general public to the idea that interior design was not just for the rich and wealthy but that anyone with a bit of imagination and creativity could perform miracles within their own homes. I am only sorry that these shows have not left our prime time screens and have been consigned to the late night and obscure channels on our televisions. However, interior design has been rediscovered and lives on.
