They are usually covered with a high quality stain resistant finish that the only thing you have to worry about is sweeping them with a mop. But now they make those swifer mops which take care of the job in seconds so you could consider them almost maintainence free. That is pretty much the extent of your hardwood flooring cleaning.If you want to have worry free flooring, hardwood flooring should be the choice for you. And if you do have kids that you worry about hitting their heads, you can buy an area rug and place it in the high traffic areas to cushion the fall.
