I need to rip off the cheap vinyl siding the former owner installed on my house. He got an off brand low quality siding to make the house look good to sell. I know there are some really good vinyl and cement board sidings on the market, but I really like wood siding the best. I am trying to decide between cedar shake siding and exterior wood lap siding board. I could get a stain that made the wood look like cedar, or get real cedar wood. It would be faster to install than all those shakes, even if they really look great on a house. My current plan is to use the boards on the big areas and some shakes in the peaks at the top of the house.
