The names of the city’s pioneers have emerged all through the city of Birmingham in locations including Pierce Elementary School, Hunter House Hamburgers (that was situated on the street previously referred to as Hunter Boulevard, which side stepped down-town towards the east and was relabeled Woodward, with all the first Woodward Avenue section renamed Old Woodward), the Hamilton Hotel, the Willets Building and Merrill Street.
