My Mother Works as an Office Manager in a Doctor’s Office and Does an Online Nursing Course at Night
Posted by Shanice,
My mother had worked as an office manager in a doctors office for over twenty years, when she came to a bold decision. She said that although she loved her position, she wanted more, and therefore looked into LPN Online Programs. The physicians found out about what she was doing, and offered her a nursing position at the same office once she graduated. My mother was thrilled with what they said, and forged ahead with her studies. She will finish in about two more years, and can not wait to start her new career. I am very proud of her, as if her friends, coworkers and family.
I am working 40 hours a week and am learning to become an LPN through the Internet. And, I must say, I am doing both things extremely well. I was skeptical earlier but not now. I am able to easily sail in both boats at once. It is fun too!
What subjects will I have to learn should I choose to go ahead with an Internet-based nursing program? I don’t like math; I think I am not made for that subject at all. Is that a necessity for nursing education? Our local nursing school here checks upon academic grades overall and so here it is important.
I have heard LPN programs on the Internet don’t go into much detail as the traditional school and college programs go to. They are over within a short time too, which might mean they skim the surface of certain topics. Is that true?
This may be a very special case, but both my father and my mother are attending an online LPN course at the moment ? No, it isn’t as funny as it sounds. It gives them time to study together and work together too. It’s better having two people doing the same thing than one, anyway.
I need to know a few things. Are LPN and LVN courses the same? What’s the difference? And if there is a difference, which one is better? I am somewhat confused by the variety of information I have found on the Internet.
I am sure she will need all the family support she will get. My teacher was going through an online nursing program last year and she was planning to give up midway because of the pressure. It was I and some of my friends who told her to keep going and she is doing well now. We are all waiting her certification soon!
It is good she took such a decision. So many of us live the lives that are imposed upon us when we are young, without thinking, and keep grumbling about our situations. It is only when you take risks such as these-not that there is any risk in online nurse training-do we make our lives more enriched.
2 more years! How long was her course? I have heard that these online nursing courses are shorter than the traditional ones, especially for LPN which is as it is a short course. I shouldn’t think you should have to study for more than a year for LPN through an Internet-based institution.
