I have a big dog and love everthing about him, including his larger then live personality. But he wasn’t always like this, a few months back he started to chage, his energy and viality were greatly reduced. When it first happened I didn’t know why and I just thought it was a phase. But gradually my dog got worse and worse, so much so that he would just lounge around. I began researching into the issue an was eager to find the cure, I wanted my dog back and was willing to do anything to get him back. Finally, I stumbled on some excellent articles at Dog Beds For Large Dogs. It showed me that a dogs health is very similar to a humans and they need sleep just like us. I put the relevant changes in place and noticed a great improvement in his health, and soon he was back to his normal self again.

German Shepard puppy training can be a rewarding experience if you know the limitations and natural instincts of a puppy. You need to understand them and tailor your training accordingly. It’s most natural instinct is the prey instinct. It will follow the prey instinct to its natural conclusion or until its exhausted. A puppy like a child needs time to explore and learn about its surroundings. As a trainer your need to guide them gently through transitions of mood with an alternative attraction such as a piece of food, a happy tone of voice, or a ball. A puppy needs a good reason to change a mood.

Crate training a Labrador puppy when she or he enters your home will give it a sense of being in a protected environment. Wide open rooms, big beds are going to make new puppy nervous in a environment that is new. A puppy crate will also give you some off-time. You can let the little fella play in it while you take short breaks. As he makes the crate his own special place he will hate soiling it so he will try to hold his bladder a little longer until you are ready to let him out. But, don’t expect the small pup to hold on forever.

Potty training adult dogs need not be tough if a few basic rules are followed. Remember to take your dog out to comfortable and secluded spot every time you feed him. Let him stay there as long as he needs to empty his bowels. This may take longer initially as he explores and get to know the spot. Offer him praise and petting once he finishes his business and then take him in. Do this every time without fail. It needs commitment and consistency on your part. Leaving a dog fully fed dog at home while you rush off to work is a sure recipe for a major mess. No use blaming the poor dog for giving in to his natural urges.

You should learn puppy training techniques in order to have a well-behaved adult dog. You can start training your puppies when they are about 2-3 months old. Start with potty training. An important aid is a crate. After every meal take them out and let them do their business. Then put them back in their crate. Do this consistently after every meal about every 2 hours. Slowly increase the gap between the meals and increase it to 3 hours.
And continue the trips outside. As the puppies don’t like to soil their bed they will slowly learn bladder control and in about 3-4 weeks your puppy should be fully potty trained. Accidents might happen but don’t scold him for this. He is still young and full bladder control will take time.

Training German Shepherds require patience and consistency. You need to set a schedule to train them and do it regularly. Most dogs will regress and forget the training if it is not reinforced consistently. Especially in the early years you need to put in the effort to instill discipline in them.
A well trained German Shepherd is a joy to be around. Another point to note here is that sometimes they will not do what you want them to do. They will try to test your intolerance limits. This is the general tendency of these dogs. Don’t be discouraged. Just reinforce your training and let them understand what you will tolerate and what you won’t. Once this rules are established they will not likely cross them. But expect them to cross them once in a while. It is part of their nature and they can’t help it.

Crate training an older dog is a little more difficult than puppies. He may not like to be put in a crate when he has had run of the whole house. But a system of treats and withholding praise will work wonders in getting your dog to obey you. An important tip here is to buy a crate that is big enough for your dog to stand and turn around inside but not too big to use as toilet in case he can’t get out.
This happens rarely but better to be cautious. The crate should be a friendly and comfortable place for your dog. Throw in an old t-shirt and some materials for him to lie on.

Dogs are men’s best friends; naturally dogs imbibe similar food habits, and sedentary lifestyles. Processed foods are serious culprits, they have nil nutritional value, but high sodium and carbohydrates contents, making dog too diabetic. Overall scenario is complete with the dog having no exercise regimen! Like humans, canine friends also need regular exercise regimen. Natural and balanced diet with low carbohydrate and sodium plus adequate protein is the best diabetic dog food. Natural food including raw meat, eggs with even shells and some vegetable matter would be best as diabetic dog food. Sardines in the meal give essential acids preventing onset of diabetes. Earlier scraps went off as dog’s food; currently packed foods are being given to dogs, rendering them diabetic. Packed dry dog foods consist mainly of carbohydrates and sodium; further being dry they affect the dog’s kidneys. Feeding dogs with proper organic foods, low on carbohydrate and sodium and high in protein and vegetables would keep away diabetes. Feeding your pet with canned food requires careful sourcing. Ensure they are low on carbohydrate, sodium and high on protein, be organic and free from toxins.

Here are some beagle training tips every owner should make it a point to include in their dog training program, the most important being to control begging behavior.
Beagles have strong sense of smell and they are attracted to food. They will try every trick in the bag to get your attention and bag a snack or treat from you. They will also give you the puppy dog look to try and waggle food you never intended on giving them in the first place. Beware, of this. As it can become a major problem later on.
As they will jump, stand on their hind legs, run around you, hassle you till you give in. This sort of behavior needs to be nipped in the bud. Your training should be geared towards making them understand that your food is not theirs. And they won’t get it no matter what.
