There are basically seven steps to building a successful website.
They are:
1. Identifying what is unique about your business and find out what your prospective clients are already looking for on the Internet.
This is the foundation step for building your website.
Think about what you do within your business, then decide how you would categories your services into different sections.
Think of your website as a book. each one of your websites categories represents a chapter in the book, each chapter focuses on a particular or specific subject but is still associated to the overall contents or subject of the book.

Creating a map for your website and planning it before you begin actually building it is elementary for success.
You wouldn’t ask someone to build you a new home unless they had a blueprint to follow would you, building a website is no different.
2.Set up your hosting and domain names.
I always recommend a Webhost that uses and supports cPanel, cPanel has lots of features that you can benefit from, One is fantastico (and depending on the host simple scripts), these make your installation of your websites content management system very easy.

When registering your domain name I use and recommend www.GoDaddy.com
3.Install your website within your hosting account.
As mentioned, if your web host has cPanel you can easily install your website using either fantastico or simple scripts, I use and recommend Wordpress for my websites, it has proven to be a great platform to build your site on, and is constantly increasing in popularity.
4.Choose the theme of your site and customize it with plugins.
One major benefit of Wordpress is the number of free themes available, If you are just starting out this can be a real money saver. Go to wordpress.org for free themes and plugins.
Another benefit is the amount of plugins that make Wordpress easily customizable, so that anyone with no experience in coding and web development can build powerful authority websites.
5.Set up your site with the correct category structure using the right keywords.
There are a couple of trains of thought with this strategy. Do you use exact phrase match key words or not, Members of my course get the full rundown on this.

6.Build a network of sites with links pointing back to your site.
Social media is the new economy in regards to traffic on the internet if your not using these sites your missing out on some valuable search engine ranking and free traffic.
7.Writing your content and bookmarking.
What are the tricks to writing good content? what do you actually write about? and how can you automate your bookmarking efforts.
The secret to writing good content and knowing what to write about will be the difference between, people finding your site and coming back and people finding your site and forgetting all about you.
