Whenever you buy a new domain name from a Domain registrar other than your web host, the domain name you purchase is always hosted on, or pointing to the Domain registrars web servers.

In this tutorial I want to show you how to easily change the name servers for a new domain name purchased with a Godaddy account.

Before you can change your name servers for your domain name, you need to have either, made a decision on which web host you will be using, or already have your web hosting set up.

After you set up your web hosting account, you should have received an email  from your web host with the details of their specific name servers.

If for any reason, after you signed up for your web hosting account,  you didn’t get the email with your web hosts name server details, then you will need to contact the support desk to obtain it.

Below, I have provided a list of name servers for the web hosts that I use, But you need to make sure you check with YOUR web host’s support team to confirm what yours are.

Make sure that you received both, NS1 and NS2 details as both of these will be required to point your domain name to your web hosting account.

NS2.HOSTMONSTER.COM

2. BlueHost

NS2.BLUEHOST.COM

3. HostGator

nsXXXX+1.hostgator.com
(hostgator updates their name servers every day so you will need to contact them for your exact NS)

4. WebHostingPad

NS2.WEBHOSTINGPAD.COM

After you have confirmed that you have the correct name servers for your web hosting account, you will now have to log back into your GoDaddy Account.

Go to the GoDaddy home page and log in using the information you used when you bought your domain name.
