Whenever you buy a new domain name from a Domain registrar other than your web host, the domain name you purchase is always hosted on, or pointing to the Domain registrars web servers.
In this tutorial I want to show you how to easily change the name servers for a new domain name purchased with a Godaddy account.
Before you can change your name servers for your domain name, you need to have either, made a decision on which web host you will be using, or already have your web hosting set up.
After you set up your web hosting account, you should have received an email from your web host with the details of their specific name servers.
If for any reason, after you signed up for your web hosting account, you didn’t get the email with your web hosts name server details, then you will need to contact the support desk to obtain it.
Below, I have provided a list of name servers for the web hosts that I use, But you need to make sure you check with YOUR web host’s support team to confirm what yours are.
Make sure that you received both, NS1 and NS2 details as both of these will be required to point your domain name to your web hosting account.
1. Hostmonster
NS1.HOSTMONSTER.COM
NS2.HOSTMONSTER.COM
2. BlueHost
NS1.BLUEHOST.COM
NS2.BLUEHOST.COM
3. HostGator
nsXXXX.hostgator.com
nsXXXX+1.hostgator.com
(hostgator updates their name servers every day so you will need to contact them for your exact NS)
4. WebHostingPad
NS1.WEBHOSTINGPAD.COM
NS2.WEBHOSTINGPAD.COM
After you have confirmed that you have the correct name servers for your web hosting account, you will now have to log back into your GoDaddy Account.
Go to the GoDaddy home page and log in using the information you used when you bought your domain name.

After you have logged into your Godaddy account click on the Domain Manager Tab located in the left sidebar – Refer Diagram below.

After you have clicked on the Domain manager tab you will then need to find and click on the button titled ‘Nameservers’ located on the top toolbar.

After clicking on the nameservers icon You should see the following screen. Before you input any information CLICK the Custom nameserver button.
Now it’s time to put the Name Server information you received from your Web Host. Make sure you put in both of the NS1 and NS2 information.
It may look like something I showed you before, But make sure you check what your name servers are with your web host:
1. Hostmonster
NS1.HOSTMONSTER.COM
NS2.HOSTMONSTER.COM
2. BlueHost
NS1.BLUEHOST.COM
NS2.BLUEHOST.COM
3. HostGator
nsXXXX.hostgator.com
nsXXXX+1.hostgator.com
(hostgator updates their name servers every day so you will need to contact them for your exact NS
4. WebHostingPad
NS1.WEBHOSTINGPAD.COM
NS2.WEBHOSTINGPAD.COM
Then Click OK.

Click OK again to close the nameserver tab.
Congratulations You Have Just Successfully Pointed Your Domain Name To Your Web Hosting Account.
At this point you You are free to logout of GoDaddy or You will remain logged into your GoDaddy account, So well done, you have just learned How To Change Name Servers In Six Easy Steps.
